Already for 20 years, GURT is dedicated to serving active citizens and helping them to implement societal changes in their communities. Today GURT is the largest information network of change-makers from all regions of Ukraine uniting above 28 thousand people.

GURT Resource Centre has studied the state of the Ukrainian civil society organizations in Zaporizhzhia oblast during January-February 2016. The assessment was carried out within the project “Strengthening capacity and networking of Zaporizhzhia’s CSOs”.
The aim of the study is to determine a level of development of the CSO sector in Zaporizhzhia oblast, to identify the potential, goals, strengths, weaknesses and limitations, as well as to estimate capacity development needs of CSOs for planning and implementing projects and programs, in order to further develop a training course on strengthening capacity management of organizations. GURT Resource Centre successfully implemented the project «Development of women’s entrepreneurship in Ukraine» funded by World Jewish Relief. The project is aimed at increasing employability and income-generation of women through development entrepreneurial skills and encouragement to official registration of their small businesses in Ukraine by providing training, consulting support, and subsidies for the development of their start-ups.

On May 30, 2016 Microsoft Corporation in partnership with Resource Centre GURT held YouthSpark Live in Kyiv. The event brought together 70 active young people from all over Ukraine.
YouthSpark Live is a global community enabling youth to collaborate, inspire and support each other while using technology to spark change in Ukraine and abroad. Read more

On April 18, 2016 in Kyiv office of Microsoft Ukraine the Girlz in ICT initiative was held. The event aimed at encouraging girls to be guided not by stereotypes, but by personal interests and abilities, while choosing a profession in IT. Girlz in ICT event, organized by Microsoft Ukraine together with GURT Resource Centre, brought together 75 participants. Among girls were students and graduates of IT specialties, IT-managers, software specialists and graduates of specialties not related with IT, planning to develop a career in IT.
Microsoft Corporation celebrates the International Girlz in ICT Day to properly assess professional interests and strengths of girls and encourage them to consider studies and careers in Information and Communication Technologies.

21 April 2016, 17 participants of the 5th All-Ukrainian Self-Help School have got certificates and now are ready to implement this effective technology of supporting Ukrainian warriors, who returned from the ATO zone, and our compatriots, who suffered from the Russian aggression in the eastern Ukraine. This self-help school was organized by Borodyanka Center of Social and Psychological Rehabilitation of the Population with the assistance of GURT Resource Center and State Service of Ukraine for war veterans and members of ATO.

GURT Resource centre since 1995 has been actively involved in developing local communities in Ukraine through fostering civic activism and strengthening local self-governance.
Between 2011 and 2014, GURT has implemented a number of projects aimed at making change in communities of Kyiv oblast: ‘New opportunities for marginalized rural communities in Chernobyl affected areas of Ukraine’, ‘Equal Opportunities for National Minorities and Disadvantaged Groups in Realizing Culture Rights: Richness in Diversity’. These projects aimed to ensure inclusive governance within rural communities by involving community members, including vulnerable ones, into the participation in community development. Within the projects GURT continued implementing inclusive governance models and practices in Ukrainian rural communities. Novy Kohorod community was one of the target groups of these projects.
