On May 30, 2016 Microsoft Corporation in partnership with Resource Centre GURT held YouthSpark Live in Kyiv. The event brought together 70 active young people from all over Ukraine.
YouthSpark Live is a global community enabling youth to collaborate, inspire and support each other while using technology to spark change in Ukraine and abroad. Read more

On April 18, 2016 in Kyiv office of Microsoft Ukraine the Girlz in ICT initiative was held. The event aimed at encouraging girls to be guided not by stereotypes, but by personal interests and abilities, while choosing a profession in IT. Girlz in ICT event, organized by Microsoft Ukraine together with GURT Resource Centre, brought together 75 participants. Among girls were students and graduates of IT specialties, IT-managers, software specialists and graduates of specialties not related with IT, planning to develop a career in IT.
Microsoft Corporation celebrates the International Girlz in ICT Day to properly assess professional interests and strengths of girls and encourage them to consider studies and careers in Information and Communication Technologies.

GURT Resource centre since 1995 has been actively involved in developing local communities in Ukraine through fostering civic activism and strengthening local self-governance.
Between 2011 and 2014, GURT has implemented a number of projects aimed at making change in communities of Kyiv oblast: ‘New opportunities for marginalized rural communities in Chernobyl affected areas of Ukraine’, ‘Equal Opportunities for National Minorities and Disadvantaged Groups in Realizing Culture Rights: Richness in Diversity’. These projects aimed to ensure inclusive governance within rural communities by involving community members, including vulnerable ones, into the participation in community development. Within the projects GURT continued implementing inclusive governance models and practices in Ukrainian rural communities. Novy Kohorod community was one of the target groups of these projects.

On 18-19 of March 2016, during the “Improve your business” training, nine winners of business-plan competition had a chance to deepen their knowledge in business developing. The event took place due to “The development of women’s entrepreneurship in Ukraine” project, which was implemented by GURT resource center with the financial support of the World Jewish Relief.

In the frame of the project “Strengthening capacity and networking of Zaporizhzhia’s CSOs” GURT Resource Centre conducted the study of the state of NGOs, charitable organizations and foundations in Zaporozhzhia oblast.
The study aim is to determine the level of development of CSO sector in Zaporizhzhia oblast, identify their potential, aims, strengths, weaknesses and limitations, as well as to estimate capacity development needs of CSOs for planning and implementing projects and programs to further develop a training course on strengthening organizational capability management.
On February 11, 2016 GURT held the first focus group in Melitopol. As a result of preliminary online survey of 150 CSOs in Zaporizhzhia oblast, GURT Resource Centre invited 20 heads and deputy heads of public and charitable organizations and charitable foundations to participate in the event.

Between 8 and 10th December 2014 a conference “Future of the Civil Society in Ukraine: search for ways to consolidate” was organized by GURT Resource Centre and the Ukrainian Catholic University using the future search format. More than 60 representatives of local self-government and state government, community leaders and active citizens, national, regional and local civil society organizations.

On Thursday, December 17, 2015, Tamara Martseniuk held a public lecture on gender policy in Ukraine and challenges of the European integration. The event was initiated by GURT Resource Centre together with the Department of Sociology at the National University of «Kyiv-Mohyla Academy» within the project «Gender Policies and EU Integration: Experience of the Visegrad Four Eastern Partnership».

GURT Resource centre has been working for almost 20 years to implement the projects aimed at developing communities and strengthening their capability. Since 2007 one of the GURT instruments is development of entrepreneurial and leadership potential of community representatives.
During 2014-2015 with the financial support of Monsanto Fund GURT has implemented a project «Development of the Small Entrepreneurship in Ukrainian Rural Communities». The project is aimed at stiring up the entrepreneurial and leadership potential of the representatives of village communities of Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr and Kyiv oblasts. As a result of business plans competition held within the project, 36 participants have received the financial support for the development of their start-ups (the total amount of financial support was more than 800 thousands hryvnias).
At the beginning of September 2014 within the communities involved in the project GURT carried out the event called “Which business ideas are necessary and could be successful within our community?”. In the Verhniachka village of Cherkasy oblast among the other participants was the principal of the lyceum №1 Liudmyla Denysiuk together with her pupils Oleksandr Voiedylov, Yuliia Tkachenko and Eliza Zaparovana. The pupils have presented their business concepts on energy efficiency.
